In this post, we compare two similar verbs: 照顾 and 关心.
1. 照顾, look after, is more about the actual action. 照顾 can be done with true feelings of caring for someone or simply out of duty. Two examples:
我请了一个护工在家照顾奶奶。 We hired a health care worker to look after my grandma at home.
(This is more about doing a job)
我生病了,妈妈把我照顾得很好。 I was sick. Mom took good care of me.
(This is done out of real affections)

2. 关心, care for, be concerned about, is more about the affection or the feeling of caring.
爸爸很关心我的身体健康。My dad really cares a lot about my heath.
(This is out of one's real concern, real feelings. It does not mean that the person can/will carry out actual actions, but it usually leads to the action if conditions permit. For example, in this sentence above, we can add a condition:
爸爸常年美国出差,但是一直很关心我的身体健康。My dad is always traveling for business in the US, but he cares a lot about my health all the time.
(Dad is away, so he cannot actually carry out the action of taking care of his child.)

照顾 (zhàogù) generally means "to take care of" or "to look after." It implies providing care, attention, and assistance to someone or something. This verb is commonly used in various contexts, such as taking care of children, the elderly, or sick individuals, as well as looking after pets or plants. It can also refer to providing support or assistance in general.

照看 (zhàokàn) "照看" also means "to look after" or "to take care of," but it specifically emphasizes the action of "watching over" or "keeping an eye on" someone or something. This verb is often used in situations where the main focus is on supervising or monitoring someone or something to ensure their well-being or safety. It may imply a sense of vigilance or attentiveness in watching over someone or something
