好处 can refer to profit and gains. 优点 does not have this meaning.
When they both mean "advantage", 好处 is the advantage to someone or something and is often used in this structure - "对...有好处" (be good to...).
优点 is more stand-alone, referring to the strong points or virtue of somebody or something, as in the good part of their traits, personalities or characteristics.
