"快" can be used to express that something is happening quickly or soon. For example, 他们很快就会到达 (tāmen hěn kuài jiù huì dàodá) meaning "they will arrive soon". It can also be used to express that someone is quick-witted or sharp, for example, 他很快就明白了 (tā hěn kuài jiù míngbái le) meaning "he quickly understood".
