另外 (lìngwài) is commonly used as an adverb to indicate something that is separate or different from what has been mentioned previously. It can also be translated as "in addition" or "furthermore."
Example 1:
我已经买了一件衣服,另外还买了一双鞋。(Wǒ yǐjīng mǎi le yī jiàn yīfu, lìngwài hái mǎi le yī shuāng xié.)
I have already bought a piece of clothing, and in addition, I also bought a pair of shoes.
Example 2:
他的工作很忙,另外还要照顾两个孩子。(Tā de gōngzuò hěn máng, lìngwài hái yào zhàogù liǎng gè háizi.)
His job is very busy, and furthermore, he has to take care of two children.
