倔强 (juéjiàng) is usually used to describe someone who is stubborn and unwilling to compromise. For example, one might say: 他总是倔强地坚持自己的想法,不肯让步。(Tā zǒngshì juéjiàng de jiānchí zìjǐ de xiǎngfǎ, bù kěn ràngbù.) He always stubbornly insists on his own ideas and won't give in.
