Using 不妨 (bùfáng) would be inappropriate in situations where it is not appropriate to suggest that something should be done. For example, if someone is asking for advice on a difficult decision, it would not be appropriate to suggest that they "might as well" do something without considering the consequences. In this case, it would be better to use a phrase such as 我建议 (wǒ jiànyì) "I suggest" or 我认为 (wǒ rènwéi) "I think".
