In modern Chinese, 谓 (wèi) is rarely used by itself. Instead, it's used to form words such as 可谓, or 所谓.
Example: 这机会可谓是千载难逢。This may be the chance of a life-time.

谓 (wèi) is a verb that is used to express the idea of "saying" or "calling" something. It is similar to other words with similar meanings such as 说 (shuō) and 称 (chēng), but it is more formal and is used in more formal contexts. For example, 谓 (wèi) is often used in official documents or in literature, while 说 (shuō) and 称 (chēng) are more commonly used in everyday conversations.
