In this discussion, we try to analyze the difference between 为了 and 以便.

1. Part of speech: 为了 is a preposition indicating reason. 以便, on the other hand, is conjunction. So these two words have different parts of speech. This means that 为了 can be followed by a noun, a nominal phrase, or even a sentence and as a result form a prepositional phrase. But 以便 as a conjunction must appear before a noun. 以便 cannot replace 为了 in the sentences below:
E.g. 我这样做都是为了她 [phr] I'm doing it like this only for her; What I'm doing is all for her.
E.g. 我不会为了钱而出卖朋友。 [phr] I will not betray my friends for money.

2. Position: As 以便 is a conjunction, used to connect two clauses, so it has to be used before the second clause of a complex sentence. The position of 为了, a preposition, is more flexible (as demonstrate above).

3. Meaning: 为了 indicates purpose or reason. 以便 only indicates purpose.
