晾 (liàng) is used to describe the action of leaving something out in the air or sun to dry, or to describe the action of leaving someone out in the cold, or cold-shouldering them. For example, you could say "他们把衣服晾在太阳下 (tāmen bǎ yīfu liàng zài tàiyáng xià) to describe the action of leaving clothes out in the sun to dry. Alternatively, you could say "他们把他晾在一边 (tāmen bǎ tā liàng zài yībiān) to describe the action of leaving someone out in the cold.
