I am curious about the character 雪. I've seen it with a slightly different stroke: http://www.yellowbridge.com/chinese/wordsearch.php?searchMode=C&dialect=M&word=雪&search=Go
However, sometime the simplified and the traditional characters appear the same. Can you please explain why this happens? Is it a result of the font?

Yes, you are right!
The Chinese font that is adopted in our apps right now is \"SimHei (in Chinese: 黑体)\". The font that is used in the link you mentioned is called \"SimSun (in Chinese: 宋体)\". Please compare the differences: We hope this has answered your question! Thank you very much. If you have other questions, please let us know. We are always glad to help you with learning Chinese! |

Ok. I understand that different fonts may write the character slightly differently. Can SimHei write the traditional character for snow with the elongated stroke?

Sorry for the super late reply.
Regarding my last reply to your question, I put the pictures of the two fonts for the traditional character "snow" again here (last time it didn't work out), please refer to: The two pictures should answer your second question as well. If you still have further questions, please let us know again by describing your question in details. You may also use pictures in this area, so that we can get a clear clue about which elongated stroke you are referring to. We are always happy to help! |
