Another example: the English side of the cards 号码 （hao4ma3) and 数 (shu4） are exactly the same; both read "[n] number". I would like to use the study notes feature to add a way to distinguish between these two when I am using the desk top trainer in translation mode. I hope you can explain to me how to do that.

The notes will help in this cases - but currently are not supported on the Desktop app. (Android, iOS and Website are supporting them).
As long as the feature is not yet available on the Desktop (we are working on a complete new version of that app) you can let us know those words which you consider difficult to distinguish as to modify the translations and avoid the problems you mention. In this particular case we modified translation for 数: [n] number, figure (be aware that this change currently is only visible on-line as it has not been yet included into any off-line dictionary) |
