I was happily surprised to see a new choice for above settings on the android device called 'random'. However, it seems with every card update I do it gets reverted back to what I've chosen on the website settings (there the 'random' choice is not presented).

You are right the random starting mode ha been included into the last Android version. We have updated the way the server handles that and now it should not be reset any more.
