Edit
Hi,
Today I received a mail from one of my Chinese friends that included a few new words for me. So I happily went to my tainchinese application and wanted to enter :恢复, 恢复其, 恢复常态. Unfortunately the last two words are not included in your list. Would it be an idea, if you had a web page, where users can simply give you some input about the words they would like to be included in your lists. I know you have a mechanism that let you know which words the users have been looking for (and did not find) in the your dictionnary, this is a good approach. But I also would appreciate a more direct way to give you some input.

Ribenguniang,
when you sign in on our webpage, click \'content\'. From here select \'import chinese word list\'. This brings you to a section where you can submit these words to be added into our dictionary. -Jake from the trainchinese team

We have something similar to what you suggest.
If you use the \"Import word lists\" function on the Content page then you can enter all the Chinese words which you like to add to a list. The system then chooses and suggests words in case there are several possibilities, and if a word is added by you, that is not yet in our dictionary then it will be automatically be sent to one of our teachers to review it and add it. As for the expressions you wanted to add: - The third expression was just added into the dictionary. - The second one has no meaning by itself, but 恢复 is [v] retrieve, resume (is in our dictionary) and 其 which may refer to something referred to before but needs to be followed by a noun (which is missing)
ribenguniang lautet: I meant 恢复期... Thank you for your hint. Perhaps you should make it a bit more more 'obvious' to the user that this is the way how to add new words to your DB. A description of this process would be helpful (though I know by through my own experience that very few people reads it ...) Actually I have known that I can create my own list of words, share them with other users, but it was totally unclear to me how to assign an 'audio' to those words.
klaus lautet:
When you create the lists, then the words will be poicked form our database (including the audio). Should we find words that are not yet in our database then we will check them and then add them, that includes a recording of the corresponding audio. Please be aware that as we are targeting to have a very complete dictionary (currently covering more than 56,000 words and phrases), we put our priority on separate words - and not phrases. Even so short phrases are perfectly ok to be added (not only for the benefit of the user proposing them but also as they also help other users to understand how specific words appear in context). When it comes to longer sentences we are slightly reluctant to add them as they will typically be very specific. As for the short phrase 恢复期 we will add that (convalescence period) |
